🎟💞Pink Neon Sunday Salon 💞 🎟

Inspired by experiences at Louise Bourgeois’ Sunday Salons that ran for over 30 years and commitment to nurturing interconnection on a creative level. Portia Munson & Erika deVries are initiating Pink Neon Sunday Salons.  

“Our goals are; to hold space/a stage for Hudson Valley based & visiting artists to gather/gaze/admire be admired, and that we all leave the salon more inspired to make art and live creatively in our human condition.” 

Salons will initially meet seasonally (4 x a year) for two hour sessions.  

parameters:

bring your work - hardcopies preferred up to 10 works

if your work is time based - pick a 3-5 minute excerpt in case the group is large and can not accommodate more viewing time.

Like Louise - we like chocolate and whiskey - bring snacks to share

Portia Munson is an American visual artist who works in sculpture, installation, painting and digital photography, focusing on themes related to the environment and feminism. Her work includes large-scale agglomerations of mass-produced plastic found objects arranged by color, as well as small oil paintings of individual domestic found objects, and digital photographsof flowers, weeds and dead animals found near her home in upstate New York.

Erika deVries is a mother, artist, teacher, fairy tale reader, teller and believer.  She works interdisciplinary in photography, performance, neon, video and handcraft, in which she creates and relates embodied experiences.  Her works rendered in neon, are handwritten transcriptions dictated to her children and family members which crystallize the moments when language and meaning coalesce.  She is a co founder of Cygnets Way.
